Evelyn R. Vance, 78, a homemaker of Rural Route, Carthage, died at 6:47 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 1989 in the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage.
Mrs. Vance was born November 20, 1910 at RR 2 Basco, Ill., a daughter to William and Maggie (Day) Fleming. She married Julius C. Vance November 20, 1928 in Bowen, Ill. He preceded her in death February 29, 1976.
She was a member of the Denver Christian Church and of the Denver Browning Chapter, O.E.S. both in Denver, Ill.
Surviving are two sons, Larry G. Vance of Rural Route, Basco and Terry J. Vance of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; one brother W. Bryan Fleming of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Edna) Rosa of Burlington, Iowa, and Mrs. Lawrence (Erma) Hudson of West Point.
Also preceding her death are her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 9 at the Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage. The Rev. Ronald O. Richardson will officiate with burial in the Harmony Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday with family meeting with friends from 7-3 p.m. Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the Denver Christian Church.
