OBITUARY

Joseph M. Tudor was born in Ross county, near Frankfort, Ohio, and departed this life at his home six miles west of Memphis, Feb. 8, 1928.  At the time of his death he was 90 years, 1 month and 20 days old.

He grew to young manhood in his native state, and when the call came for volunteers he responded and enlisted in Co. I, 81st Ohio, and at the close of the Civil War he was honorably discharged.

He was married to Margaret Elizabeth Blake, in Ohio, in the year 1861, who preceded him in death March 30, 1915.  To this union was born one son who survives.

He was baptized in infancy, and since living in the community he made a public profession of the Christian life, and was received into preparatory membership at Price Chapel.

He came to Scotland county in 1889, and located on the farm where he died.

He was a man who was loved by all who knew him.  To his intimate friends he has left the memory of a clean, wholesome, and likable personality.  To his country he gave a useful and intelligent service.

His last days was spent reading his Bible, and although death came suddenly, he had everything arranged to meet the inevitable.

Besides his son, Thomas E. Tudor, of Memphis, Mo., he leaves to mourn an adopted daughter, Mrs. Rose Thurber, of Memphis, whom they took to raise at the age of eleven, besides six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, with many relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Memphis at the methodist church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Arthur Olsen.
