Abram Tucker, who died at his home in Bentley Monday morning, was an old and highly esteemed citizen of Harmony township -- had lived here for many years. He left a record of honesty and unimpeachable integrity. No one needs a better epitaph. TYRO.

Column 4Abram Tucker
Abram Tucker was born in Page county, Virginia, Aug. 13, 1828, died at his late home in Bentley, Monday, April 10, l899 having exceeded by a few months the allotted life of man. He with his parents, a sister and a brother came to Illinois about the year 1837, settling in Hancock county. Of the three children Benjamin Tucker, the oldest, a resident of Bentley, is the sole survivor. Mr. Tucker remained a resident of this state until his death with the exception of a few months spent in Kansas.
He was married Feb. 12, l854 to Mary J. Wright and to them were born eight children, five of which preceded him to the grave.
The remaining three are Mrs. Bettie Jones, of near Carthage, Marcine and B. K. Tucker of Davenport Washington.
The subject of this sketch united with the Christian church at Oak Grove in the year 1873, later he removed his membership to Mt. Pleasant church and remained a faithful member of the same until death called him hence.
