Was Born in Virginia 84 Years
Ago in OctoberMrs. Margaret A. Tippett died at her home, 849 South Market street, in Memphis last Saturday, December 28, at the age of 84 years.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Harry V. McColloch of Lees Summit, Mo., at the Memphis Presbyterian church, Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment was in the Memphis cemetery.
The pall bearers were Sam McKnight, James McKnight, Fred McKnight, Glen McKnight, Hubert Smith and Harold Tippett.
Mrs. Tippett was, before her marriage, Margaret Ann McKnight. She was the daughter of James M. and Rebecca McKnight. She was born in Rockbridge county, Virginia, October 16th, 1856.
She came with her parents to Missouri when she was about a year old and has resided here ever since. She was married to James Emmett Tippett, March 26th, 1884, who died eighteen years ago.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Iva Stark and Mrs. Verna Bartee of Moberly; three sons, Arthur, Virgil and Arlie, all of Memphis; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by one brother, Wilson McKnight and one sister, Mrs. Anna Trueblood, both of Memphis.
She had been a member of the Presbyterian church for many years.
