Lois Louise Tippett, 76, daughter of Thomas Finley and Alma Leon Coleman Croley was born June 5, 1907, in rural Scotland County. Lois passed away in the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, in Memphis, Missouri on May 21, 1984.
Lois was united in marriage to Arlie Wayne Tippett, December 16, 1925, in Bloomfield, Iowa. To this marriage two daughters were born.
Lois is survived by her two daughters, Alma M. Brown of Phoenix, Arizona, and Dorothy L. Bell of Joplin, Missouri; two grandsons, Warren E. Brown of Boise, Idaho, Timothy W. Bell of Austin, Texas; three granddaughters, Margaret L. Figueroa of Glendale, Arizona, Belinda Green of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Suzanne Bell of Joplin, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Matt, Jamey and Megan Figueroa, Ami and Amanda Green and Wendy Brown; a brother and sister-in-law, Boyd and Winifred Croley of Memphis, Missouri and a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Lester Daniels, Kansas City, Missouri.
Lois spent her entire life in Scotland County growing up in the Energy Neighborhood, moving to Memphis in 1919. She was a devoted member of the First Christian Church and lived her life in a Christian way. She was a member of the Loyal Women's Class and enjoyed working for causes to help others.
Lois will long be remembered for her friendly, happy ways. She loved her family, friends and community.
Lois will be sadly missed by all who knew her but she has gone on to join Arlie who passed away six months ago.
Funeral services were held on May 25, 1984, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church, Memphis, Missouri. The Rev. Kenneth Campbell conducted the services. Organist was Ann Luther and Guy Gardine sang. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. Casket bearers were John Ed Luther, Robert Monroe, John Cook, Ronald K. Dial, Earl Craig and Dave M. Burrus.
