Mrs. Pearl E. Stidum

Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl E. Stidum were held Wednesday, May 30, at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore Memorial Home, the Rev. Danny Phillips, pastor of the Burnside Christian church, officiating.  Music was furnished by Mrs. Kenneth Cutler.  Casket bearers were Everett Bisby, Arthur Salisbury, Floyd Vaughn, Floyd Hoerntlein, Chester Todd, and Guy Thompson.  Burial was in McKay cemetery.

Mrs. Stidum died Monday, May 28, in Memorial hospital following a brief illness of only two days.

Born Nov. 28, 1880 in Hancock township near Webster, she was a daughter of John and Millicent Capitola Robinson Wright.  She was married Oct. 9, 1900 in Carthage to Jesse D. Stidum.  They farmed in the Burnside community until they moved to Burnside in 1932, where he engaged in business for the next five years.

She was a member of the Burnside Christian church, and the Willing Workers Sunday school class of the church.

Surviving are a brother, Tracy Wright of Burnside, and a niece, Mrs. Waldo Harrington of Carthage, who spent much of her childhood in the Stidum home.

Her husband died Jan. 11, 1958.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, and a brother, Merlin Wright.
