R. Enoch Starr

Funeral services for R. Enoch Starr of Hamilton were held at 2 p.m. April 30 in the Lamporte Funeral Home.  Burial was in Oakwood cemetery in Hamilton.

Mr. Starr died April 27 in Memorial Hospital in Carthage.  He was 69 years old.

Born May 17, 1896 near Denver, he was a son of George H. and Lona Mabry Starr.  On Dec. 3, 1930 in Galesburg, he was married to Edna Behnke who survives.

He was a member of the Ferris Methodist Church and the Hamilton American Legion Post No. 629.  He served in France in World War I.

Surviving with the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Gwenivere) Vice of Hamilton and Miss Gleah Starr, at home; a brother, Barney Starr of Nauvoo; two sisters, Mrs. Elwin (Florest) Simon of Elvaston and Mrs. Gail (Stella) Schmitz of Basco; and four grandchildren, Johanna, Tina, Bryan and Paula Vice.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, S. C. Starr, and another brother, who died in infancy.
