Funeral services for Glenn V. Smith, 79, Elvaston, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today in the Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton with the Rev. Charles Harris officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery southeast of Carthage. A memorial has been established in his memory.
Mr. Smith died Monday, Aug. 23, 1976, in his home in Elvaston.
He was born Feb. 20, 1897, in Hancock County, a son of Andrew and Alice Mosley Smith. He married Mae Long Grainger, Nov. 20, 1917, in Bentley. He was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Mary Royalty of Quincy, Mrs. Irving (Marie) Bergquist of Burlington, Ia., and Mrs. Walter (Maxine) Stoddard of Keokuk, Ia.; three sons, James of Colusa, Harlan of Bend, Ore., and Robert of Elvaston; 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and a brother, Ivan of Colchester.
