1918 - 2003Arveda "Bea" Smith, 84, of Amory, Mississippi, died Thursday, September 25, 2003 at the Countrywood Plantation Care Center in Mantachie, MS.
She was born October 2, 1918 in Clark County, MO, a daughter of Walter Clarance and Elizabeth Jane Austin Forquer. She married Herbert J. Smith on September 26, 1960. He survives.
She had lived in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Monroe County for several years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and flower gardening.
Other survivors include two sons, Tom Rossi and his wife Hattie Mae of Amory, MS and Roger Rossi and his wife Delores of Hereford, AZ, one brother, Jesse Forquer and his wife Wilma of Wyaconda, MO, 11 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held in Amory, MS on Friday, September 26, 2003.
Local funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 29, 2003 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Reverend Dan Deatrick officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Visitation was held after 9:00 A.M. Monday with the family meeting with friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO was in charge of arrangements.
