LaHARPE -- Services for Ken A. Shutwell, 35, of San Francisco, are pending at Banks and Beals Funeral Home here.
The former LaHarpe resident died at 6:45 p.m. Monday in Fairmont Hospital in San Leandro, Calif.
Burial will be in LaHarpe Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the LaHarpe Union Church of which he was a member.
He was born Sept. 12, 1952 in LaHarpe, a son of Dale and Eleanor Thompson Shutwell.
Surviving are his parents of LaHarpe; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Estes Thompson of LaHarpe; and a brother, Ted Shutwell, also of LaHarpe.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda; and his grandparents, Fred and Margie Shutwell.
Mr. Shutwell was a 1970 graduate of LaHarpe High School and a 1972 graduate of Carl Sandburg College.
He had lived in California the past 10 years where he was a gymnastics instructor and artist.
