Held Jan. 3 in
LaHarpe ChurchFuneral services for Fred Shutwell, 87, farmer and lifelong resident of the LaHarpe vicinity, were held Monday, Jan. 3, in the Union Church in LaHarpe. Rev. Edgar Medill Shaw officiated and burial was in LaHarpe cemetery.
Shutwell died Dec. 31 in Mary Davier hospital after a four-year illness. The son of Robert and Catherine Blythe Shutwell, he was born near Disco Oct. 25, 1887. He was married June 15, 1909 to Marjorie Maynard. He was a member of the Union church.
Surviving are the widow; three sons, Kermit, Vernon and Dale, all of LaHarpe; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Baxter of Metamora; his mother; a brother, Earl Shutwell and a sister, Mrs. Mamie Negley, both of LaHarpe, and 11 grandchildren.
