Funeral services for Earl G. Shutwell, 83, LaHarpe, were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Banks and Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with the Rev. Wilmer Wernecke officiating. Burial was in LaHarpe cemetery.
Mr. Shutwell died Wednesday morning, Jan. 19, 1977, in Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
He was born Sept. 23, 1893, near LaHarpe a son of Robert and Ivan Blythe Shutwell. He was a member of the LaHarpe Union Church and had farmed all of his life in the LaHarpe area. He married Elva Allen Dec. 24, 1914, in Carthage.
Surviving with his wife are four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Fife and Mrs. Howard (Elsie) Magin of LaHarpe, Mrs. Lois Crane of Lomax and Mrs. Leonard (Ruth) Kirchner of Donnellson, Ia.; a sister, Mrs. Mamie Negley of rural LaHarpe; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great
