Robert S. Shores, 61, of Fountain Green died Friday, April 2, 1999, at the Montebello HealthCare Center in Hamilton.
He was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Victoria, the son of Sirrell and Blanche Powell Shores. He married Patricia Ann McConnell on March 9, 1960, in Macomb.
He worked as a mechanic in Opheim and for the last 20 years in Carthage at Knorr and Walker Implement.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Blanche Shores of Abingdon; three daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Sue Gilpin of Dallas City, Judith Lynn (Richard Markey) Shores of Burnside, and Mrs. Ernie (Robin) Castillo of Port Huron, Mich.; one son, Robert Allan (Lisa) Shores of Peck, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Shores of Taylor, Mich.; three sisters, Julie Ann Shores and Margaret Florence, both of Galesburg and Norma Barnes of Bardolph and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and his father.
Services were held Monday, April 5, at Banks & Beals Funeral home in LaHarpe with Rev. Michael Deblois officiating. Burial was in the McConnell Cemetery near Fountain Green.
A memorial fund has been established.
