HAMILTON, Ill. -- Goldie P. Shinn, 88, of Hamilton, died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 25, 1985) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Mrs. Shinn was born in Hancock County near Niota Feb. 12, 1897, a daughter of Melvin C. and Cordelia Ludington Brown. She married Waldo A. Shinn May 2, 1915. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Shinn was employed by Dadant and Sons of Hamilton for over 20 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church at Dallas City.
Surviving are a son, Clifton, of Hamilton; a daughter, Mrs. Vilas (Katherine) Paul of Hamilton; a sister, Merle Patterson of Pueblo, Colo.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lamporte Funeral Home at Hamilton. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Hamilton.
Memorials may be made to the Free Methodist Church at Dallas City.
