Funeral for LaHarpe
Man Held Yesterday

Funeral services for Clinton Ellis Sheets, 68, of LaHarpe were held yesterday afternoon in the LaHarpe Christian church.  Rev. A. G. Vail officiated and burial was in LaHarpe cemetery.

Sheets died Sunday night in his home in LaHarpe after an illness of nine months.  He underwent surgery last August in a Burlington hospital.  He would have been 69 Monday.

He was born at Delaware, Ohio, Nov. 10, 1883, a son of Silas and Ruth Walker Sheets.  He moved to Illinois in 1902 and had farmed in the LaHarpe vicinity until retiring during the past year, when the family moved to town.

He married Ethel Schroeder July 28, 1912 at LaHarpe.  She survives with three daughters, Mrs. Johnson Reed of LaHarpe, Mrs. Floyd Reed of Carthage and Miss Dorothy Sheets at home.  Three grandchildren also survive.  He was the last of eight children.

Clinton Ellis Sheets, 68 years, 11 months and 29 days, died at his home here on Nov. 9, at 10:30 a. m.  He had been in ill health for nine months.  He was born in Delewart, Ohio in 1883 to Silas and Ruth Walker Sheets and came to Illinois in 1902.  He was a farmer until this year when the family moved to LaHarpe.  He was married to Miss Ethel Schroeder on July 29, 1912, in LaHarpe.  She survives as do three daughters: Mrs. Johnson Reed of LaHarpe; Mrs. Floyd Reed of Carthage and Miss Dorothy Reed at home, and three grandchildren.  Mr. Sheets was the last of eight children.  He was a member of the Christian church.  Services were held at the Christian church at 2 p. m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12.  Rev. A. G. Vail officiating.  Burial was in LaHarpe cemetery.
