Funeral services for Conrad Ray Settles, 33, Ferris, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Chapel in Macomb with the Rev. Edward Harkrader officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Settles died Thursday afternoon, June 22, 1972, in Memorial Hospital in Carthage. He had been ill four weeks.
He was born Aug. 30, 1938, in Macomb, a son of Charles and Helen Ann Murphy Settles. He married Nora G. Franks Nov. 15, 1959. He lived most of his life in Macomb. He had served in the army and with the Macomb police force and was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Macomb. He had been in the trucking business in Macomb and was employed as a school bus driver.
Surviving with his wife is one daughter, Shelly, and one son, Charles both at home; four sisters, Mrs. Patricia Ann Harding, Mrs. Barbara Jane Eacock and Mrs. Helen June Stephenson of San Diego, Calif., and Phyllis Louise Barnes of Peoria; two brothers, Dennis Eugene Settles of Macomb and Howard Leon Settles of San Diego, Calif.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Terry Lee, and one brother, Donald Charles.
