GLADYS ROBINSON

Nov. 1, 1917 -- Sept. 4, 2001

Gladys "Marie" Robinson, 83, a longtime resident of Hamilton, formerly of Keokuk, Iowa, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Keokuk Area Hospital.

She was born on November 1, 1917, in Kahoka, Mo., the daughter of David Richard "Doc" and Rebecca Ann Burkhead Dunn.  She married John Scovern on Nov. 19, 1935, in Carthage.  He survives in Kahoka, Mo.  On Nov 6, 1954, she married Woodrow Wilson Robinson in Nauvoo.  He survives in Hamilton.

She is survived by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Robinson of Hamilton; two daughters, Diane Maureen Scovern Barnett of Hamilton and Nancy Robinson Spraggins of Hamilton; one son, Ronald Robinson of Morganfield, Ken.; one sister-in-law, Ethel May Dunn, and one sister, Alice Pitfold, both of Kahoka; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Everett, Floyd and Raymond Dunn; one sister, Dorothy Mae Pitfold; one grandson, Gerald Jay Barnett; one great granddaughter, Somer Dawn Barnett.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Hamilton.  She had worked at Steel Castings in Keokuk for many years.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Lamporte Funeral Home of Hamilton, with Rev. Randy White officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.  Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, after 3 p.m. with the family meeting friends between 6 and 8 p.m. at Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Memorials may be made to Hancock County Blessing Hospice or the Hancock County Cancer Society.
