DEPARTS LIFEFuneral Services For Raleigh
Ridings, 78, Held Saturday
in AugustaRaleigh Ridings, 78, former local area farmer, departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1967 at Memorial hospital, Carthage, at 11 a. m. He had been in failing health for some time.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday in Augusta at the Cookson and Son Funeral home. The Rev. Charles Coonce of the Bowen Christian church officiated in the services.
Mrs. Leo McCutchan played comforting organ music. There were many lovely floral tributes.
Interment was in Woodlawn cemetery. Pallbearers were Wesley Burton, Willard George, Leland McClelland, Wilson Worrell, Otis Dagett and Frank White.

The highly regarded Mr. Ridings was born Feb. 9, 1889 near Camden, Schuyler county, Illinois the son of Nelson and Emily DeCounter Ridings. He was reared in the vicinity of his birth where he attended schools including the old Kennedy Normal school at Rushville.
While residing in the Plymouth community he became a member of the now defunct Christian church.
He was married June 18, 1914 to Mariam Staff, this union being severed in her demise in February 1922. In 1925 he married May Carrol who passed away a year later in 1926. In 1930 he was married to Alice Robinson Cloud of Plymouth. She passed away in 1954.
Mr. Ridings had resided in the West Point-Stillwell community for several years, where he held the respect of many friends.
He is survived by two children, Russell Ridings of West Point and Mrs. John (Martha) Bove' of Augusta. He also leaves six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
His parents, two children, Raleigh Edmond and Mary Esther, four brothers and three sisters are deceased.
