Willie Reuck, a well known farmer of Middle Creek vicinity, passed away at his home, where he had lived his entire life, on Nov. 17, 1935, being at the time of death 64 years, 7 months and 9 days. He was the son of Henry and Eliza (Woods) Reuck. His father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Adams county, Illinois.
He was united in marriage to Emma Ellen Thompson Oct. 29, 1893. To this union were born two children, Clay who with his family, resides with his parents, and Edna Long, wife of Levi Long, passed away Feb. 25, 1933.
He had six grandchildren: Alden, Rollin, Irene and Robert Reuck, Emma Lee and Dannie Long.
He was reared in a true Christian home and during his early life united with the Christian church at Oak Grove. So faithful was he to the teachings of this parental home that no persuasion could tempt him to leave it.
He was a kindly soul, being genial always and everywhere, ready to assist a neighbor when needed. He will be remembered by those who cared for him during his brief illness, for his cheerful patience.
He leaves to mourn his loss, besides his loving wife and son, one brother, Alexander, and many friends and neighbors. His parents, only sister, Lovie VanDyke, two brothers, John and Harry have preceded him in death several years ago.
Funeral was held at Oak Grove, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Fred S. Nichols officiating. Burial at Oak Grove cemetery.
