MRS. E. E. REUCK
DEPARTS LIFE
AT CARTHAGE

Aged Lifetime Resident of Han-
cock County Laid To Rest
At Oak Grove

Mrs. Emma Ellen Reuck, lifetime resident of Hancock county, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 1962 at 10:30 p. m. in the Ranck nursing home in Carthage.  She was 90 years of age.

Mrs. Reuck was the daughter of Robert and Belle Kimbrough Thompson, having been born in Chili Township, Illinois, Jan. 27, 1872.

On October 29, 1892 at Carthage, Ill., she was united in marriage to Willie Reuck.  They farmed in the Middle Creek community, northwest of Plymouth, until Mr. Reuck passed away, Nov. 17, 1935.  Two children were born of this union, a son, William Clay and a daughter, Edna May.

For the past twenty years Mrs. Reuck has resided in Carthage, sharing the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Belva Reuck where she received loving care through her declining years.

It has only been during the past two years that her health failed her and she had been a patient in the Ranck Nursing home since September 13, 1962.

She was a member of the First Christian church of Carthage.

Mrs. Reuck is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Belva Reuck; five grandchildren: Rollin Reuck, Plymouth, Mrs. Robert Knowles, Carthage, Robert Reuck, San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. William Allen, Carthage, and Danny Long, Carthage.  Fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson also survives.

Deceased are her parents, her husband, the one son, William Clay Reuck and the one daughter, Mrs. Edna May Long.  One grandson, Alden, was killed in World War II in 1945.  Two brothers preceded her, Fred and Willie Thompson, also a sister Miss Martha Thompson; as does a foster sister, Mrs. Flora Lane.

Final Rites Tuesday

Final rites for the beloved Mrs. Reuck were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Kilgore Memorial home in Carthage.  The Rev. James E. Piper, pastor of the Carthage Christian church, officiated.

Dr. M. H. Corbridge sang "God Understands" and "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. Lowell Smith, organist.

There were many beautiful floral tributes.  Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery.  Casket bearers were Harold Beer, Gail Long, Paul Long, Paul Powell, Merlin Galloway and Lowell Smith.

Mrs. Emma Reuck

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Reuck of Carthage were held Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore Memorial Home, the Rev. James Piper, pastor of the First Christian church in Carthage, officiating.  Mrs. Lowell Smith was the organist, and Dr. M. H. Corbridge sang "God Understands" and "The Lord's Prayer."  Casket bearers were Merlin Galloway, Harold Beer, Gail Long, Paul Long, Paul Powell, and Lowell Smith.  Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Reuck died Saturday, Nov. 24, in the Ranck Nursing Home in Carthage.  She was 90 years old.

Born Jan. 27, 1872 in Chili township, she was a daughter of Robert and Belle Kimbrough Thompson.  On Oct. 29, 1892 she was married to Willie Reuck.  They farmed in the Middle Creek community until his death on Nov. 17, 1935.

For the past 20 years Mrs. Reuck has lived in Carthage, where most of her time has been spent in the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Belva Reuck.  She had been in the Ranck Nursing Home since Sept. 13, 1962.

She was a member of the Carthage Christian church.

Surviving with the daughter-in-law are five grandchildren, Rollin Reuck of Plymouth, Mrs. Robert Knowles of Carthage, Robert Reuck of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. William Allen of Carthage and Danny Long of Carthage 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
