Lester H. Reed, 88, of Hamilton, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000 at Montebello Health Care Center. He was born August 2, 1912, the son of Fuller A. and Laura B. Walton Reed in Greenbrier County, Esty, West Virginia. He married Ethel Graham. She died June 14, 1992.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ray (Mabel) Williams of Warsaw; nine nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one niece and one nephew.
He was self employed as a handy man in the Carthage area and was of the Baptist faith.
Services were held Sept. 23 at Lamporte Funeral Home of Carthage, with Reverend Charles Hadsall officiating. Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery at Burnside.
A memorial has been established for the First Baptist Church in Carthage.
