Alfred Reed

Funeral services for Alfred Reed, 75, Dallas City, were held Saturday in Banks & Beal Funeral Home with the Rev. George Hecker officiating.  Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery near Burnside.

Mr. Reed died Thursday morning, July 23, 1970, in the LaHarpe hospital.

He was born June 7, 1895, in Rennick, W. Va., son of Creed and Martha Cansada Darnell Reed.  He married Mildred Trout July 3, 1935, in Carthage.

Surviving with his wife are a son, Clarence of Warsaw; a daughter, Mrs. Herman (Lula) Hendricksen of Council Bluffs, Ia.; three brothers, W. S. Reed of Dallas City, Henry of LaHarpe, and Charles of Lomax; one sister, Mrs. Martha Allen of Quincy; six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, one half-sister and one half-brother.
