Column 5DOUBLE WEDDING IN BOWEN
Miss Helen Pauline Smith and Mr. Corliss Rand, son of John Rand, of Bowen, and Miss Martha Hull and Mr. Leon Ramsey, all of Bowen, were married at the Methodist parsonage in Bowen last evening at 6:00, by the Rev. C. E. Liston, pastor of that church.
Mrs. Rand and Mr. Ramsey were members of the graduating class of the Bowen high school this year, Mr. Rand having graduated two years ago and Mrs. Ramsey being a junior this year.
Both couples will go to housekeeping immediately in homes already furnished by them.

Funeral services for Leon Ramsey, 74, Bowen, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Bowen Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Wilber officiating. Entombment was in Bowen Abbey. Visitation was in the Neiser Funeral Home in Bowen. Memorials may be made to the Bowen Methodist Church.
Mr. Ramsey died Friday night, May 25, 1979, in Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
He was born Feb. 7, 1905, in Bowen, a son of Samuel Henry and Sadie Veach Ramsey. He married Martha Hull June 2, 1925. She died in 1960. He married Frances Duffy Phipps June 17, 1961, in Carthage.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Mrs. George (Doris) Smith of Downers Grove; three sons, Robert, Gerald and Sam of Bowen; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Henry (Anna Carol) Nash of Bowen.
