Sharon L. Pindell, 67, of LaHarpe, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at the Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa.
She was born June 29, 1936, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Royal "Spot" and Adelaide Manka Brandon, Sr. She married Charlie R. Pindell, Jr., on March 21, 1959, in Nashua, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband of LaHarpe; her mother, Adelaide Brandon of Carthage; one son, Michael R. (Donna) Pindell of Stronghurst; one granddaughter, Melissa Pindell of Burlington; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Shania Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Royal "Butch" Brandon, Jr.
She was raised in the Carthage area and graduated from Carthage High School. Earlier in life she worked at Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison, Terre Haute Junior High School as a cook, Sterzing Food Company and Champion Products, both in Burlington. She was a member of the LaHarpe American Legion Auxiliary and the Macomb V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a member of the Knoxville National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. Robin Thompson will officiate. Burial followed in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for the American Lung Association.
