Column 5DEATH OF MARY S. PHILLIPS
Mary Susan Cox Phillips, the daughter of Jackson and Belinda Wilson Cox was born April 8, 1862, and passed away March 18, 1934, being at the time of her death, 71 years, 11 months and 10 days of age.
She united with the Primitive Baptist church in June, 1885.
She was married to Webster Phillips Feb. 19, 1883. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Marshie Moore and Mrs. Dennis Kimbrough, and one son, Waldo. She leaves three brothers, Lewis, of Quincy; Carl, of Carthage; Charlie of Middle Creek; and one sister, Mrs. Jim Haines, of Colchester; and seven grandchildren.
Susie, as she was familiarly called by those who knew her, was deprived of the joy of life by deafness, but was a loving mother, true friend and neighbor and will be sadly missed by many friends.
Yes, dear mother, we will miss thee,
From they old familiar place,
And we'll long again to see thee,
And the smiles of thy dear face,
Yes, we miss our dearling mother,
Miss her fond and loving care,
We are conscious that no other,
E'er can fill her vacant chair,
We remember thee in all the past,
We miss thee from thy place,
A shadow o'er our life is cast,
That time cannot erase,
From this weary world thou hast gone,
To rest with those gone on before,
We are left here to mourn all alone,
'Till we meet on the beautiful shore.Card of Thanks
