Mrs. Pennock Dies
In Blandinsville;
Funeral Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Pennock of Carthage will he held at 1 p. m., Saturday, March 17, in the Neiser funeral home in Carthage.  Burial will be in Moss Ridge cemetery, Carthage.

Mrs. Pennock died at 10:15 a. m. yesterday in the Whittman nursing home in Blandinsville.

Funeral for Mrs.
Matilda E. Pennock
Is Held Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Ellen Pennock were held Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m., in "The Elms," the Rev. Elmer L. Castrodale officiating.  Mrs. Kenneth Cutler was the soloist accompanied by Mrs. Ralph Denison.  Pallbearers were Clere Duffy, Lawrence Duffy, Floyd Duffy, Eugene Weatherington, Clifton Duffy and Carl Phipps.  Interment was in Moss Ridge cemetery.

Mrs. Pennock died Wednesday, March 14, in the Whittman nursing home in Blandinsville.

Born Feb. 4, 1867, near Fountain Green, she was the daughter of Samuel S. and Frances Meeks Duffy.  She married Murray W. Pennock August 19, 1891, in the home of her parents near Fountain Green.  They made their home on the Pennock homestead near Burnside until they came to Carthage in 1904.  They were the parents of one son, Paul Henry, who died July 21, 1944.  Her husband preceded her in death June 14, 1926.

She was a member of the Carthage Presbyterian church, which she joined as a young girl.  She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. Catherine Bollman of Chicago and a brother, J. A. Duffy of Carthage.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
