Carol Ann Payne

Carol Ann Payne, 45, of Macon died Thursday afternoon at Columbia Regional Hospital.

She was born in New Cambria, Jan. 26, 1938, to Plages M. and Clara I. Cullen Jones.  She married Jessey W. Payne in Brookfield, Aug. 24, 1957.  She lived in Macon the past 23 years and had been employed at Toastmaster.

Survivors include a son, James, of the home; a daughter, Jeanne Austin of Macon; a sister, Mrs. Irvin (Betty) Baker of Excelsior Springs; an aunt; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William Marvin Jones and John Morgan Jones; and two infant sisters.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home.  The Rev. Clarence Pierce will officiate.  Burial will be in the New Cambria Cemetery.  Visitation is from 7 - 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Carol Payne Dies, Services at Macon

Mrs. Carol Ann Payne, 45, Macon, died Thursday at Columbia Regional Hospital.

She was born Jan. 26, 1938, the daughter of Plages M. and Clara I. (Cullen) Jones.

On Aug. 24, 1957, she was married to Jesse W. Payne, at Brookfield.

She had resided in Macon for 23 years, working at Toastmaster.

Surviving are a son, James, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Jeanne) Austin, Macon; a granddaughter, Wendy; a sister, Betty Baker, Excelsior Springs; an aunt, Mrs. Blanche Stufflebean, Brookfield; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Marvin and John Morgan Jones, and two infant sisters.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home, Macon, led by the Rev. Clarence Pierce.  Burial will be in New Cambria Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
