La Crosse, Jan. 16, 1876. --

………………… Last Friday night, at a dance at
A. J. Dorothy's, a fight took place between a cou-
ple of young men who should have known better.
But whiskey was at the bottom of the fight ……
The same night there was an old-fashioned chiva-
rie at the residence of the Widow Patterson in
honor of her son Benton taking unto himself a
wife. They kept up their orgies until a late hour,
much to the annoyance of some of their more
quietly disposed neighbors.                  REPORTER.
