Funeral services for Harry O. Patterson, 53, of Burlington, Iowa, formerly of LaHarpe, were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. in the Prugh Funeral Chapel in Burlington, the Rev. A. J. Sobern officiating. Burial was in LaHarpe cemetery.
Mr. Patterson died Friday afternoon in Burlington while doing electrical work on the new Kline hospital there. He was taken to Burlington hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Born in LaCrosse, Aug. 8, 1908, he was a son of James L. and Jessie Cushman Patterson. He was married to Virginia Lee Cannon in Chicago May 4, 1943.
He was employed for some time as an electrician at the Iowa Ordnance plant in Burlington and later by General Electric in Burlington.
He was a member of the Assembly of God church and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 735. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are the widow; his mother of LaHarpe; three daughters, Mrs. Warren Kendall of Burlington and Donna Jean and Barbara at home; two sons, James T. and Steven at home; a brother, Keith Patterson of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Mass of Shreveport, La. and Mrs. Carl Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; two grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
