DIED. -- At Canton, Ill., 5 o'clock p.    m. Sept. 16th, 1901, MR. GEORGE    PATTERSON, aged 31 years and four    months.

Mr. Patterson was a son of Wm. J. Patterson, of LaCrosse vicinity.  He was married to Miss Alice Dorothy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Dorothy, April 12th, 1895.  They have lived in Canton for the past five years.  He leaves the wife and a son four years of age, father and mother, five brothers and a sister to mourn his untimely death.  His ailment was painters' colic and he was only sick about a week.  The remains were brought to LaHarpe Wednesday noon and services were held at 1 o'clock largely attended by the relatives and friends from LaCrosse, Eld. Elsea officiating.  A number of Woodmen from Burnside and this city assisted in the burial services.
