Column 4PATTERSON -- Elmer Benton Patterson, 61, 709 Morgan St., died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 1986, in his home after a short illness. Born June 27, 1924, in Fabius, Mo., son of Earl and Lottie Hill Patterson. Married the former Marguerite Bryant in Beloit, Wis., June 29, 1947. Employed as machine repairman by Mechanics Division Borg Warner Corp. 22 years. World War II Navy veteran. Survivors include his former wife, Marguerite and John Patterson, both Palmdale, Calif. and Nicholas Patterson, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; five daughters, Lois Derrickson and Margaret Croissant, both Rockford, Carolyn Qammaz, Amman, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Georgia Patterson, Van Nuys, Calif., and Rose Mary Patterson, Perris; 11 grandchildren and two great-granchildren; three brothers, Bob, La Pine, Ore., Bill, Davenport, Iowa, and Dale, Shullsburg, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. Cecil (Vernie) Brown, Rockford, Mrs. Jim (Earline) Giger, Stockton, and Opel Thompson, in Arkansas; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and a daughter, Linda Lou Patterson.
