'Cassie' Passig

Cassandra Isabell "Cassie" Passig, 83, Marceline, died Monday evening at Pershing Hospital.

Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Bentley-Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with the Rev. Robert A. Craig officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline.  Visitation starts at 2 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Passig was born Jan. 6, 1908, in rural Chariton County, daughter of John A. and Margaret (Anderson) Price.  She and Herman L. Passig were married Aug. 25, 1930, at Keytesville.  He survives, of the home.

Also surviving are a son, Lavern Passig, Brookfield; three sisters, Lara Virginia Baxter, Macon, Daisy Bailey, Ft. Madison, Iowa, and Jonnie Mae Ward, Springdale, Ark.; two grandchildren, Cindy Lou Gibson, Ft. Smith, Ark., and Laura Ann Herrington, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and six great-grandchildren.

Her parents and a sister, Florence Elizabeth Price, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, near Bynumville, and the Liberty Bills Club, Mike.  A homemaker, she had also taught school for three years.  She and Mr. Passig moved to Marceline 10 years ago, from a farm south of the town.
