ELOISE PARRISH

Dec. 13, 1924 -- July 21, 2002

Eloise Parrish, 77, of LaHarpe, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb.

She was born on Dec. 13, 1924, in Good Hope, the daughter of Harry W. and Alice Grace Wright Woolverton.  On Oct. 8, 1946, she married Ercell R. Parrish in LaHarpe.  He died Feb. 5, 1994.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou (Mark) Mathew and Theresa (Phil) Blythe, all of LaHarpe; one son, Robert Parrish of Marion, Iowa; one brother, Duane (Anna Lou) Woolverton of LaHarpe; five grandchildren, Lisa Parrish, Alex Blythe, Ashley Blythe, Allison Blythe and Mitchell Mathew; and one great grandson, Keith Blythe.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Eddie Parrish; one grandson, Micah Mathew; one great granddaughter, Ambre Parrish.

She was a 1942 graduate of LaHarpe High School and attended the Burlington Beauty Academy.  She owned and operated a beauty shop in LaHarpe since 1945.  She was a member of the LaHarpe Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.  She served as a Girl Scout leader and was a 70-year member of the LaHarpe American Legion Auxiliary.  She spent many hours doing volunteer work and had donated over nine gallons of blood.  She and her husband enjoyed camping, gardening and were members of the ILLIAMO Model T Car Club.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 24, at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Robin Thompson officiating.  Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe American Legion Auxiliary or the LaHarpe Christian Church.
