Beulah I. Owen, 78, of Colona died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Colona. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Family Funeral Services, Colona. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
She was born July 1, 1925, in Monroeville, Ind., the daughter of Jacob and Cornelia Hoover Funk. She married William Owen March 15, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Ind. He died Feb. 17, 1990.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Colona and was very active and involved. The membership had been very supportive of her after the loss of her husband. She was a member of Women on Mission of the church, and of POPS of Colona. She collected angels, enjoyed shopping, and loved her grand- and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter and spouse, Dorothy and Lloyd Fonger, East Moline; son and spouse, Robert and Brenda Owen, Colona; stepdaughter, Margie Whitaker, Fort Wayne, Ind.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Stenberg, Kalamazoo, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, four sisters, a grandchild, a stepdaughter and her parents.
