LOIS NORRIS

Oct. 18, 1919 -- April 20, 2004

Lois Conn Lung Norris, 84, of Colchester died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, in Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa.  She was born Oct. 18, 1919, a daughter of Ray and Stella Kline McGaughey.  She first married Harley Parker Conn on Oct. 17, 1936.  He died Feb. 17, 1953.  She married Kenneth Lung on May 6, 1954; he died July 26, 1988.  She then married Don Norris who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (John) Frakes of Hamilton and Alice (Hollis) Dean of Carthage; two step-daughters-in-law, Barbara Lung of Monmouth and Glenna Lung of Brighton; three sons, Donald (Connie) Conn of Colchester, Wayne (Carol) Conn of Florida, and Mike (Merry) Lung of Houston, Texas; two step-sons, Tim (Leona) Lung of Camp Point and Charles (Joyce) Lung of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 32 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Alleyne McGaughey; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two step-sons, Larry and Clifford Lung; one grandchild, Junior Melvin; one step-grandchild, Tom Lung; five sisters, Ruth Allison, Lucille Baird, Maxine Phillips, Mary Howell and Donna Spencer; and four brothers, Kenneth, Willard, Harold and Irvin McGaughey.

She worked at McDonough District Hospital for several years and then at Cook's Cafe in Tennessee and at the restaurant in Colchester for several different owners.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 23, in Jones Mortuary in Colchester.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Burial of the ashes was held Saturday, April 24, in the Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.

Memorials may be made to the Colchester Rescue Squad.
