Susie Belle Louderback Nichols, 76, of Warsaw died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001 in Keokuk Area Hospital.
She was born Jan. 27, 1925, east of Golden, a daughter of Ellsworth and Margaret Johanna Claussen Louderback. On January 10, 1948, in Palmyra, Mo., she married Rodger Earl "Bill" Nichols.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Nichols of Warsaw; three daughters, Diane Sue (Robert) Gooding, Charlotte Jean (Wayne) Woods, both of Warsaw, and Pamela Earlene (Richard) Brookhart of Ft. Madison; three sons, Gary Dean (Laura) Nichols, Rodney Duane (Linda) Nichols, both of Warsaw, and Kevin Gayle Nichols of Floris, Iowa; four sisters, Helen Wear, Georgia Stock, Faye (Stanley) Hibbert, all of Quincy, and Elma Ferrell of West Virginia; two sister-in-law, Phyliss (Richard) Dingerson of Payson and Dorothy Nichols of Ursa; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Tommy, Everett, Lloyd, and Chester; one sister, Louise Stevenson.
She worked as a waitress and a housewife. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 12, (today) at 10 a.m. in the Lamporte Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Ed Brownlee officiating. Burial was in the New Providence Cemetery in Ursa.
Memorials in the name of Susie Belle Nichols have been established for the American Cancer Society or the Keokuk Area Hospital.
