Mrs. Ella Nelson, passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Martin Wednesday evening at 7:05 o'clock after four weeks intense suffering following a paralytic stroke, which left her in a helpless condition and from which she never recovered to any extent.
Mrs. Nelson was born in Sweden, she and her mother having come to this country, locating in Louisiana, where the father had previously located, and it was here that she was married to John Nelson, they coming at once to this country, locating on a farm in the Oak Grove vicinity where they resided for many years or until his death some 14 years ago.
Mrs. Nelson has no living relatives, having had no brothers or sisters, only one half sister, who died without heirs. She was aged 76 years, 6 months and 5 days.
Mrs. Nelson has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Martin for the past 12 years, they having lived on adjoining farms in the Oak Grove neighborhood for thirty years.
Funeral services will be held today (Friday) at the Christian Church, Rev. E. M. Smith officiating.
Burial will take place at the Oak Grove Cemetery, beside her husband and mother.
Mrs. Mary Etta Booz, of the Soldiers Home of Quincy came to Carthage Thursday evening to attend the funeral of Mrs. Nelson.
