Funeral services for Harold J. Negley, 76, LaHarpe, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Union Church in LaHarpe with the Rev. Wilmer Wernecke officiating. Burial was in LaHarpe Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the heart fund.
Mr. Negley died Friday night, Sept. 3, 1976, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was born June 26, 1900, at Terre Haute, a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Jenkins Negley. He married Mamie Shutwell Sept. 9, 1919. He was a member of the LaHarpe Union Church and had farmed southwest of LaHarpe.
Surviving with his wife are six daughters, Mrs. Dorrance (Hattie) Conner of Toulon, Mrs. Edward (Katherine) Foster of Eureka, Mrs. Elva Badger of Glendale, Calif., Mrs. Kenneth (Clara) Sallee of Hamilton, Mrs. Mildred Terpening of Salem, Ore., and Mrs. James (Bertha) Sparrow of LaHarpe; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and an infant brother.
