Betty Luceille Mosley, 83, of Hamilton, died on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
Betty was born on June 6, 1925, in Disco, a daughter of Marion and Ella (Rice) Blythe. On July 12, 1951, she married Oliver "Dean" Mosley in Macomb.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann (Mark) Philp of Donnellson, Iowa, Mardeyne Ardell Bowers of Glendale, Ariz., Marilyn Arlene (Mark) Parks of Pekin; Melissa Angelia (Rickie) White of Carthage, four sons, Marion Anthony (Debra) Mosley of Carthage, Max Allen (Karen) Mosley of Quincy, Michael Andrew Mosley of Quincy, and Mark Alden (Deena) Mosley of Palm Harbor, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Ila Bachman of Elvaston; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Elsie Ewing and Evelyn Blythe.
She attended school in Carthage, graduating in 1943. Betty had worked at Memorial Hospital in Carthage for a time and the ASCS Office in Carthage for several years. She was the secretary and office manager for Dr. Charles F. Eddingfield for over 20 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carthage.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the First United Methodist Church in Carthage. Burial followed in Durham Cemetery near LaHarpe.
Memorials may be directed to the Montebello Manor Care Center in Hamilton or the First United Methodist Church in Carthage.
Printy Funeral Home of Carthage was in charge of arrangements.
