Charles C. "Chuck" Mitchell, 56, Alexandria, Mo. died at 5:41 p.m. Friday, June 7, at St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy.
He was born Aug. 24, 1928, in Keokuk, the son of Clegguart Charles and Edith Hall Mitchell.
Before his retirement he was employed by the Kast-Metals Co. in the maintenance department. He had served with the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Alexandria Gun Club, Keokuk Elks Club, and the Keokuk Eagles Club.
Survivors include a son Clyde "Butch" of Keokuk; a brother Robert of Keokuk; sisters Mrs. Gertrude Lewis and Mrs. Darlene Schuette of Keokuk and Mrs. Geraldine Wilson of Alexandria; a special friend Mrs. Lorraine James of Keokuk; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at DeJong's Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Sutter and the Rev. Thomas Hobson officiating. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday with the family meeting friends from 7-9 p.m. The Elks will hold memorial services on Monday at 7 p.m.
