MIDDLE CREEK.

Joseph Miller, who had been suffering several months with cancer of the rectum, died at the home of Scott Belknap, on the morning of the 25th inst., aged 31 years.  The deceased leaves two children, a girl and boy, aged respectively 7 and 4 years.  After the birth of the younger child, Mrs. Miller was stricken with an apparently incurable mental disorder on account of which affliction she has ever since been an inmate of the state institution at Jacksonville.  We are informed that, some time prior to death, Mr. Miller had Elder Foley summoned to his bedside, and, under his spiritual ministrations, confessed and declared himself ready and willing to go.  After a funeral service at the church Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Lawrence Bear, the remains were laid to rest in Oak Grove cemetery.
