Chris Miller, 37, of Plymouth, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999, in Scripps Chula Vista Hospital in Chula Vista, Calif. He was born Oct. 10, 1961, in Macomb, the son of Richard L. and Merlene Johnson Miller. On June 27, 1981, in Plymouth, he married Debra Hendrickson. She survives.
He is survived by his wife; his parents of Plymouth; his grandmother, Helen Miller of Roseville; three children, Amanda, Ashley and Andrew all at home; one sister, Mrs. Bob (Teresa) Orris of Plymouth; and one brother, Gary (Annie) Miller of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents.
He was president of D&M Earthmoving and owner of Double A Trucking both of Plymouth. He was a 1979 graduate of Plymouth High School and attended Carl Sandburg College in Carthage. He attended the Bethany Baptist Church in Keokuk, Iowa. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying basketball, softball, golf, fishing, camping and boating. He was an active worker for the Plymouth Old Settlers and promoted the annual MDA softball tournament in Plymouth for several years.
Services were held Aug. 16, 1999, in the Plymouth United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Menschel officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children or to the Plymouth Old Settlers Association.
