William H. "Bill" Meier, 72, of 209 3rd St., Colona, died Saturday, July 10, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
He was born Sept. 13, 1926, in Davenport, the son of Hugo and Louise Beenk Meier. He married Betty J. Kershaw Sept. 25, 1954, in Colona.
He was a mechanic for Ringle Express in Coal Valley. He was also associated with Betty's Balloon and M&M Laundromat in Colona and had worked for Moline Body Co. and McLaughlin Body Co., Moline.
He served with the Army Airborne during World War II. He was a member of Golfmohr Golf Course, Hampton.
Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Gary McCormick, Coal Valley, and Karen and Mylon Wood, Geneseo; a son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Linda Meier, Colona; and grandchildren, Archiel, Casey William, Morgan and Ryan.
