Mrs. Emma Mecum
Of Bowen Dies

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tucker, Mrs. Eva McPherson and Mrs. Ivan Bilderback of Carthage, attended the funeral of Mrs. Emma Mecum in Bowen Saturday afternoon.

Services were held in the Jackson Funeral Home with Elder Lawrence Jones officiating and burial was in Harmony cemetery.  Deceased passed away Thursday at the Beckett Nursing Home in Camp Point, where she had resided for five years.

Mrs. Mecum, a native of Hancock county, was born March 5, 1872, a daughter of Benjamin and Martha Tucker.

Surviving are a son, Leo, of Elizabeth, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Verlinna Hankins of Quincy; a sister, Mrs. Alice Bishop of Columbia, Mo., and a brother, Emmett, of Mankato, Kas.  Also five grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.  Her husband, Wm. Mecum, and a daughter, Pearl, preceded her in death.
