HANCOCK, Dec. 18. -- Well, a revolution
or something else has brought us to the
surface. We have recovered our equilibri-
um; the presidential outlook troubles us
no longer. We believe Wade Hampton
the best christian now upon earth; are
violently opposed to bull-dosing or any
other thing partaking of such ugliness . .
. . . . "Pet" McCubbin, infant daughter of
T. B. and Martha McCubbin, died recently.
. . . . Wm. Berry and Wm. M. Riggons have
bran-new babies at their houses; we mean
little "red" babies . . The youngest daugh-
ter of R. Cravens is dangerously ill . . . . . .
Protracted meeting is in progress at the
St. Marys M. E. church . . . . The Christian
church at Oak Grove has employed Dr.
Booz to preach regularly for them on every
first and third Lord's day . . . . . Tax Collec-
tor Kelly is ready for the dimes of tax-pay-
ers at any time . . . . . . . . The school at Oak
Grove under the directions of Mr. L. J.
Rhea is in a flourishing condition . . . . Far-
mers are generally done gathering corn;
yield light . . . . Hog cholera is prevalent in
this vicinity. Fat hogs very small crop.
Traders in stock are rather inactive . . . . We
have just this to say in regard to future
