Pearl Wilda McConnell, 91, of Carthage, died Sunday, Aug. 9, at Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage.
Born Aug. 27, 1900, in Hancock County, she was the daughter of Martin and Mary Mosley Yetter. She married Stephen Reed on July 12, 1919. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1951. She later married Wesley McConnell on Sept. 26, 1956. He preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1983.
Mrs. McConnell lived in Hancock County all her life. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fountain Green.
She is survived by three stepdaughters, Mary Helen Shoemaker of Torrington, Wyo., Virginia Fossey of Maob, Utah, and Jane McDaniel of Carthage; four step-sons, Clyde McConnell of Quincy, Harmon McConnell of Keokuk, Iowa, Bill McConnell of Burnside, and John McConnell of Maquon; two nephews and three nieces.
Services were held Tuesday at DeJong-Neiser Funeral Home in Carthage, with the Rev. Phil Nevius officiating. Burial was in the Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage.
Memorials may he made to the Hancock County Nursing Home.
