ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATEDMr. and Mrs. C. A. McConnell of near Fountain Green are celebrating today their fiftieth wedding anniversary and are keeping open house for their friends both afternoon and evening. They are residing on the old home place. Their daughter, Mrs. Russell Knoedler of Artesia, New Mexico, with Mr. Knoedler and their children, Charles Max and Frances Leah, came Sunday to be present. They were accompanied by Mary Lou McConnell, who has been in the south with them for two years regaining her health after a serious illness. Mary Lou has recovered entirely and has been going to school.
Mr. McConnell's brother, John McConnell, Miss Evelyn McConnell, Mrs. Frances Cook and Mrs. Howard Hobart of Carthage, and Mrs. Paul Botts and J. W. Botts of St. Marys, will go to Fountain Green today to enjoy the celebration.

Page 64Funeral services for Charles A. McConnell, 88, one-time Fountain Green township supervisor and long a prominent farmer and stockman, were held at 2 last Thursday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Fountain Green, Rev. E. L. Casterdale of Carthage officiated. Mr. McConnell passed away Sunday at Colvis, New Mexico where he was visiting in the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. G. Knoedler. He attended school at Fountain Green and Carthage College and was a member of the aforementioned church. He was married to Miss Frances Brandt, now deceased. In addition to the daughter, two sons A. W. and K. H. McConnell of Ft. Green and a brother, John McConnell of Carthage survives.
