BEVERLY J. McCONNELL

Oct. 15, 1932 -- Feb. 9, 2003

Beverly J. McConnell, 70, of rural LaHarpe, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Glen Ellyn, the daughter of Roscoe C. and Harriet M. Howard Merry.  On Jan. 18, 1981, she married Kenneth "Kay" McConnell in Monmouth.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Jan Whitesell of Coeur-D'Alene, Idaho, and Margo McClelland of Forest Park; one son, John McClelland of Volcano, Hawaii; three sisters, Sharon Miller of Rhinelander, Wis., Josephine Holmberg of Monmouth, and Eunice Estes of California; two brothers, William Merry of Monmouth and Roscoe Merry of Dubois, Wyo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She lived in Monmouth for many years before moving to rural LaHarpe 22 years ago.  She worked for the Federal Housing Authority in Monmouth for many years and for the past several years farmed with her husband.

There will be no visitation.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the McConnell-Geddes Cemetery near Fountain Green, with Rev. Dennis Brooks officiating.

A memorial fund has been established for the Fountain Green Fire Department or a charity of the donor's choice.  Contributions may be sent to Banks & Beals Funeral Home, P.O. Box 503, LaHarpe, Ill., 61450.
