Robert J. Mason, 64, rural Keokuk, died early Monday morning, April 10, in his home.
He was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Keokuk, to Robert W. and Winnie C. Krueger Mason.
He was married June 14, 1958, in Keokuk, to Mary Helen Howard. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Floyd Mearl Mason of Nobelsville, Ind., and Charles Vernon Mason of Hamilton, Ill.; two daughters, Caroline Marie Kay of Revere, Mo., and Mrs. Rodney (Kathryn) Sparrow of West Point, Ill.; two grandsons; four granddaughters; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; and mother-in-law, Helen Howard of Keokuk.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Mason was a lifelong Keokuk resident and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Sheller Globe and Schlegel for 33 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of New Testament Christian Church, United Rubber Workers Local 444 and Elks Lodge 106 of Keokuk.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk with Bro. Bill Hauser officiating.
Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Keokuk.
Visitation is after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with family meeting friends from 7 to 9 p.m. A public Elks memorial service is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
