Rites Held Sunday For Eugene Malloy
Eugene Ronald Malloy, 63, of rural Bucklin, died Friday afternoon at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Columbia. He was born Jan. 27, 1921, at Bucklin, to Henry Lewis and Mary Elizabeth (Whisenand) Malloy.
On June 13, 1970, in Marceline, he married Ms. Lucille May Sternitzky, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Ronald Wayne Malloy, Waterloo, Iowa, Gary McGinnis, Belton and Terry McGinnis and Jimmie McGinnis, Largo, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Jean Schwem, Waterloo, Iowa and Mrs. Evelyn Kay Taylor, Brookfield; one brother, Russell Malloy, Richmond; four sisters, Mrs. Eve Fields, Brookfield, Mrs. Lola Mae Rogness, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Shirley Cathey, Bucklin, and Mrs. Charlotte Phillips, Kansas City; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Eugene Malloy was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl Malloy and Eldon Malloy and two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Powell and Mrs. Eva Whaley.
He was a lifelong resident of the Bucklin and Marceline area. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Bucklin, and the American Legion, Marceline. He served in the U.S. Army during World War Two.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Sunday, at the McLaughlin-Scudiero Funeral Home, Marceline, with the Rev. Kenneth Kelley officiation. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery, Bucklin.
